JAMMU, July 23: A large number of people belonging to SC and OBC category today met here at Muthi and discussed various issues being faced by the people of two communities.
The meeting was presided over by Kuldeep Chalotra, chairman, Labour Union and the chief guest was RK Kalsotra, State president, All India Confederation of SC/ST/OBC Organizations. The meeting was attended by labourer, farmers, contractors, students, unemployed youth, retd/working employees belonging to Barnai, Barani, Udheyawala, Shamechak, Bantalab, etc.
The meeting discussed various issues like how to get backlog of 23000, 16000, 5000 posts of SC, ST and OBC, respectively for educated unemployed youth, issues of untimely disbursement of scholarship and issue of reservation in promotion and Government jobs.
While speaking on the occasion, Kalsotra asked all the participants to jointly fight for their rights under the umbrella of the Confederation, which has a vast history of achievements at national and State level.
