KISHTWAR, June 12: Angry residents and shopkeepers of Ward No. 7 and 8 here today blocked the main road near Mini Bus Stand and staged protest demonstration against the authorities after drain water and filth entered their houses during stormy rains late this evening.
The protesters alleged that though drains have been built inside the town but the work on the main drain is lying incomplete as a result of which during rains the drain water and filth enters residential houses and shops.
Raising slogans against district administration, Kishtwar Municipality and PWD authorities they said that many times in the past the matter was brought into the notice of these authorities but no action was taken due to which they were forced to stage protest.
The protestors were pacified after assurance from the police but they said that they may start agitation if no action is taken within two days to solve the problem.
