People protest against Dharamraj company at Thannamandi

RAJOURI, Apr 15: The people from Thannamandi area held protest demonstration against construction company- Dharam Raj Construction for not doing work as per survey and harassing people unnecessarily. Locals of the area assembled on the road today and staged protest. They were shouting slogans against the Company, seeking intervention of District administration.
They alleged that at a number of places, they have changed survey to benefit some people. They further alleged that contractor was not doing earthwork in a proper way. The road was closed at Begunara for three hours as locals told that a natural source of water from where number of locals get water is closed as the company has closed culvert at that point which makes public to suffer a lot.
Locals kept road closed for over three hours during protest. The protest was led by Master Fazal Khan and Councillor Chand Begum. Tehsildar Thannamandi, Sahil Ali Shah reached the spot and after hearing people, instructions were given to executing agency to adhere to the planned survey for the execution of project.
The road was then cleared for traffic after Tehsildar assured public that work on culvert will be started within two days. Master Fazal Khan appealed to LG that an enquiry should be held about the material used by company in construction and unnecessarily harassment to public as seen in a case in Saj area also. They demanded that GREF should monitor the whole work closely and quality of work should not be compromised.
