KATHUA, Dec 3: The people of Kathua held a protest demonstration against Excise and Taxation Department against the overcharging on liquor by wine shop owners. Numbers of people led by Congress leader Paramjit Singh visited to Excise and Taxation Office to register their protest. But the ETO was not present in the office and people raised slogans against the Department.
While talking to media Paramjit Singh said that some wine shop owners are charging higher rate than the prescribed rate of liquor. They are charging Rs 10 to 50 on per bottle of liquor more. He alleged that such complaints were already given to ETO Kathua. Surprisingly the Department didn’t take any action and failed to display the rate list of liquor price.
He alleged that a nexus is operating between both the parties. He has demanded stern action on over charging and departmental action against erring officials.
