UDHAMPUR, June 12: Agitated over no proper supply of ration, locals held a protest against the Department of Food and Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs, here today.
The protesting people, under the banner of Jan –Sangharsh Sanstha and led by Advocate Sanjeet Bavouria, also torched an effigy of the Government amidst raising of slogans against the Department and the concerned minister.
The protesters alleged that there was no proper supplies of ration. The people have to wait from morning till evening and even for two or three days for receiving ration, they said and further alleged that the department was not ready to inform them even about the ration scale and rates.
The protesting people alleged a big scandal in distribution of BPL ration cards and demanded a Vigilance inquiry in this regard.
