UDHAMPUR, July 23: Aggrieved over no supply of drinking water, two separate protests were witnessed against Jal Shakti Department at village Badali and Housing Colony Udhampur.
The protesting villagers held demonstration and raised slogans against the Jal Shakti Department. The villagers said that because of failure of the Jal Shakti Department, they are dependent on the natural source of water.
“We are forced to drink contaminated water from natural sources with the result small kids and old people of the village are suffering from intestinal problems,” they said and appealed to LG for ensuring water supply to Badali village.
A similar protest was held at Housing Colony Udhampur where people alleged that despite repeated pleas to the Jal Shakti Department officials, no action was taken to ensure regular supply to the area.
