MENDHAR, Nov 19: The people from Mendhar area held protest demonstration against the Jal Shakti Department at Pathanatir, a remote village of Mendhar Sub Division of Poonch district today.
Report said that no water supply has been in village for the last one month due to which angry people raised slogans against the Jal Shakti Department and local administration.
Locals of the area Daler Khan, Tariq Manhas and others alleged that linemen of Jal Shakti Department are not deployed on duty due to which people are not able to get water supply. They said that for the last one month, they are worried about which the officials of Jal Shakti were also informed but we have not been heard anywhere when our goods and cattle are without water and the women of the house have to walk many miles away to get water from their Chashmas brings it on the head.
Villagers appealed to the District Development Commissioner Poonch and SDM Mendhar that the officials of the concerned department should be instructed to restore the water supply in the village soon.
