People protest against PDD

SUNDERBANI, May 29: The people from Thandapani area of Sunderbani and adjoining villages including Bhajwal and Beanigala held peacefully protest demonstration against the Power Development Department (PDD) authorities for illegal connections and illegal operation of welding sets, very low voltage and frequent unscheduled power cuts in the area.
A large number of people of the town and villages, including local Panchs and Sarpanchs came out on the road and held protest against PDD authorities at Sunderbani and later met the District Development Council (DDC) Sunderbani Member, Rajinder Sharma.
The protesters alleged that the existing transformers are over loaded by illegal connections. Many times people complained to AEE of PDD Sunderbani about the issue of running of welding units/ACs illegally but no action has been taken by the PDD officials. They alleged massive electricity fluctuations and low voltage in the area. They demanded additional transformer in the area as system was over loaded. DDC Member discussed the issue with senior officers of PDD at Rajouri and Jammu, who assured prompt action.
