RAJOURI, Mar 10: Residents of Keora and adjoining area, today came out on Rajouri-Thanamandi/ Darhal road and disrupted the movement of traffic for about 45 minutes.
They were protesting against the Power Development Department (PDD) authorities for their failure to ensure adequate electricity supply to the area. The local residents including large number of youth came out on the road and raised barricades. They stopped the movement of vehicles on the road and sat on dharna. They were shouting slogans against the local PDD authorities for imposing long unscheduled power cuts. The people alleged that exams of the children were going on but the PDD authorities have failed to provide adequate electricity supply.
Later, SHO Rajouri Yash Pal Jamwal rushed to the site and tried to convince the people. He also spoke to the Executive Engineer PDD and later, the agitating people lifted dharna.
