SAMBA, Mar 13: The irate people of village Mawa protested and blocked Mawa link road for over one hour in protest against the water scarcity in the area.
The protestors raising slogans against the PHE authorities said that the area is facing water scarcity for over a fortnight now and the authorities have failed to solve the problem.
Later the SHO Rajpora reached the spot and assured them that he will take up the issue with higher authorities of the department. On his assurance the road blockade was lifted.
Another protest was held at Paliward in Kathua by the irate residents of the area against the shortage of ration. The protestors also blocked the Shahedi Chowk –Parliward road and warned to intensify agitation in case the immediate steps were not taken in ensuring the ration supply in the area.
The protest was led by Kishore Bakshi, Naresh Sharma, and Neelam Sharma.
