REASI, Mar 23: People from various parts of district today protest against forest department and Forest Minister alleging various irregularities in Khair wood tendering process.
A large number of people assembled today near Bhim Garh Fort and then in the form of a rally marched towards Forest office, Reasi. The protest was led by ex-Sarpanch, Dev Raj Khajuria. The protestors were shouting slogans against Forest Minister, Choudhary Lal Singh and higher ups of forest department.
While addressing the protestors, Dev Raj said that 354 files were moved but only 50 files were processed allegedly under somebody’s pressure for the tendering of Khair wood. He also said that their only demand is fair tendering process.
“If forest department fails to do so they will agitate more aggressively”, he added. Later on they also met DFO Reasi, who assured them redressal of their concern at the earliest.
