RAJOURI, Dec 26: The villagers near Rehan in Kandi area blocked Rajouri-Budhal Road, protest for about one and half hour after two Kucha houses of villagers were damaged while widening road by GREF authorities.
Official sources said that GREF machines were at work on the road. While widening road at Danna near Rehan, Kucha houses of Zarina Begum, wife of Late Khadam Hussain and one Nassar Hussain were partially damaged.
The family members and the villagers gathered at the site and then they blocked Rajouri-Kandi-Budhal Road and started protest demonstration. Later, at around 10.30 am Tehsildar and SHO Kandi reached the spot and they gave assurance to get them compensation of the damaged houses. The villagers then lifted dharna and allowed movement of traffic.
