People protest as Netaji’s photo shown disrespect

POONCH, Mar  21:  People of  Poonch town held strong protest demonstration and also blocked Chakkan-da-Bagh road for more than an hour, as some miscreants painted the photo of  Netaji Subash Chander Bose at a local park in old city  area  here today.
The trouble started after the residents of the city found that the photo of  great freedom fighter Netaji Subash Chander Bose on the board erected at the main entrance of  the  Subash Chander Park had been painted black by some miscreants during last night.  The people got agitated and came out on the road at around 7.30 am.
They started massive protest demonstration and raised barricades on Poonch-LoC road leading to Chakkan-da-Bagh. They shouted slogans against the Administration and demanded action against the accused. They said that most disrespect has been shown to the great freedom fighter  and it will not be tolerated. The people pointed out that it is second time that this has happened. About two months earlier also some miscreants had painted the board and it was got restored.
Sensing more trouble and violence DySP Headquarters and SHO rushed to the spot. They assured the people to arrest the accused persons and take strict action in this regard. The SP and ADC also intervened later and on their intervention, the people removed dharna after  over an hour and restored movement of traffic.
