RAMGARH, Dec 7: The people of the Ward number eight and nine of Panchayat Lavidis, protested against the Election authorities and threatened to boycott the elections in the eighth phase tomorrow as over 150 voters names are missing in voter lists.
The people of the two wards have alleged that names of more than 150 voters have disappeared from the voter lists framed by Election Department. Those who are registered in the voter list of village Panchayat, their names and addresses are incorrect.
In such a way, how will people participate in Panchayat election process going to polls in the eighth phase tomorrow, they asked.
On Friday, the people of both the wards expressed their anger and demanded suspension of the VLOS who framed the voter lists.
The agitated voters including Baldev Singh, Sarabjit Kaur, Raj Singh, Avtar Singh, Parsa Singh, Farooq Singh, Tarasam Singh and other residents of Ward Number eight and nine of village of Bandarul said the new Voter lists framed by the district election authorities were made by the VLOS without survey. In these voter lists, there are many mistakes and shortcomings. The names and addresses of the voters in every ward are incorrect. People said that the voter list is the only document valid for residence proof.
They said that they have no option but to boycott elections tomorrow.
