RAJOURI, Dec 11: The people from Palma and adjoining areas staged protest demonstration against the Army authorities and blocked road for more than an hour today.
The locals led by Panch Bal Krishan assembled on the road at Palma and started protest demonstration. They were raising slogans against the Army authorities for not providing rent for the land they are occupying since long. These people alleged that despite several representations to the senior Army authorities at Rajouri and DC Rajouri, their rent for the land under occupation of Army has not been paid.
They raised barricades and disrupted the movement of traffic from 10 am onwards. Later, Tehsildar and SHO Rajouri reached the spot and assured the people to take up their issue with the concerned authorities. The people then lifted dharna at around 11.15 am.
