People protest, block road at Sunderbani

RAJOURI, July 26:  The parents and relatives of  a young woman, who went missing mysteriously, held  protest  demonstration at Sunderbani and blocked Jammu-Poonch highway for about two hours today.
Reports said that 32-year-old Asha Devi, wife of Ashok Kumar, resident of  Null Makol village in Sunderbani, who is said to be mentally unsound had been taken by her husband to Jammu on July 15, 2017  for check up,  went mysteriously missing in Jammu. Her husband returned the next day and claimed that his wife went missing from Bakshinagar area of Jammu and he  also lodged a missing report  with police there. Asha Devi is the mother of three children.
Her parents and relatives came to know about the matter and they started asking questions to her husband. They got suspicious from his  statements and then lodged   an FIR with police at Sunderbani on July 20 alleging that Ashok Kumar was the real culprit behind missing of Asha Devi.
Today, relatives from girl’s side and villagers came out on highway at Sunderbani at around 1 pm and sat on dharna. They started protesting against police and alleged that even after 5 days local police has failed to trace the young woman. A massive traffic jam was created on the highway. Later, SDPO  and SDM reached the site and assured the protesting people to solve the case shortly. They claimed that Ashok Kumar has already been detained in this connection and investigation was going on.
