JAMMU, June 1: The family members and relatives of the woman, who died yesterday due to alleged negligence of doctors at a private clinic located at Shalamar Road, Jammu today staged a protest and blocked Jammu-Pathankot National Highway at Digiana.
The family members, relatives and neighbours of the deceased woman, who was identified as Praveen Kaur (62) wife of Baljeet Singh, resident of Nanak Nagar (Jammu) today assembled at Digiana near Cremation Ground and held demonstration by putting the dead body of the woman on NH.
The protesting people blocked the busy road and disrupted vehicular traffic movement for about half an hour demanding strict action against the accused doctors and paramedical staff.
On getting information of protest, senior police officers reached the spot and pacified the protestors by assuring action against the accused doctors and paramedical staff, who were already under custody.
On the assurance of the senior police officers, the protestors lifted the blockade and dispersed.
