JAMMU, Feb 17: The residents held protest at Kot and demanded immediate shifting of garbage dumping site.
Hundreds of people residing in different areas of Kot Bhalwal assembled at Kot and held protest. They blocked the Jammu-Akhnoor road, due to which large number of vehicles got stranded.
The protesters raised slogans against Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) and demanded immediate shifting of garbage dumping site.
After getting information, SDM, Joint Commissioner JMC, SP Rural Shivdeep Singh Jamwal and SHO Gharota Inspector Gurmeet Singh rushed to the spot and pacified the protestors.
They assured the protesters that their demand of shifting the garbage dumping site will be taken up with the higher authorities for early redressal.
On the assurance, the protesters dispersed and vehicular movement was restored.
