KATHUA, Dec 15: The residents of Parliawand, Kathua took out protest against the Kathua Police and blocked the College road in front of SSP office for half an hour, today.
The protesters who were in large number raised slogans against Kathua Police for its failure in arrest of alleged three accused involved in attack on Ramesh Kumar on November 14 who succumbed to his injuries.
The protesters Jatinder Singh widely criticized the working of Kathua Police for its fails to arrest the accused who are absconding since then.
He said despite the assurance given for five days to identify and arrest murder accused,  Kathua Police failed to get any lead in the case and police is still clueless about them.
He alleged that Ramesh Kumar,  son of Prab Dayal resident of Ward No 12 , Kathua was fighting against the drug abuse and supporting the police and shared the information of drug mafia movement.
The another protester Ganesh Kumar alleged that the working of Kathua Police is under question. The drug peddlers are moving freely in Kathua town and the sale of drugs is also continuing under the nose of Police.  The drug peddlers from Punjab and Kashmir are visiting Kathua city to sold the Chitta  (Heroin). Capsule, Codeine cough syrup and other drugs. But there is no check on it on higher level. They demanded the Sanjeevani like campaign be started in Jammu and the drug peddlers from whom drugs are seized be put behind the bars. The protesters alleged that after the transfer of SSP, Neva Jain, the drug peddlers raised their heads in Kathua again and innocent youth were paying the price after spoiling their precious lives in drug addiction.
Later the deputation of protesters met SSP Kathua and showed their serious concern about drug menace, drug mafia and absconding murder accused. The SSP Kathua assured them stern action against the drug peddlers and said that five drug peddlers were arrested recently with huge consignment of drugs.
