SAMBA, July 19: The villagers of Khadergal Patli More in Samba district led by BJP senior vice president Chander Parkash Ganga today staged a demonstration in front of office of the M&RE Division Vijaypur in protest against the failure of the department to install a new transformer in the village after the old one developed a snag some time back.
The protestors shouting slogans against the PDD warned to intensify agitation in case the transformer was not installed immediately.
Addressing the protestors Mr Ganga said that people in the Vijaypur Constituency are facing worst ever power crisis due to callousness of the PDD authorities. Despite the daily bandhs and protests the authorities have failed to pay heed to settle the problem by bettering power supply in the area.
He warned that BJP will launch a massive agitation in case the immediate steps were not taken to better the power supply in entire Jammu region as people are made to suffer in this sweltering heat.
PDP leader Vijay Kumar Bawa also addressed the protestors.
Later the MLA Vijaypur Surjit Singh Slathia also reached on the spot and assured the protestors that he will install transformer in the village. He also entered into a heated argument with PDP leader.
The protestors gheraoed the Executive Engineer, Vijaypur and demanded immediate installation of transformer in the village.
