People protest, lock PDD staff

SAMBA, July 21:  Irate people from Ramgarh town held protest demonstration against power failure and then locked staff at the local PDD office for several hours today.
The residents, mostly from Ward No. 3 of the  town, came out on the streets and then took out protest march to the PDD office. They were shouting slogans against Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah,  Industry Minister  S S Slathia and PDD authorities. The agitated people then locked about half a dozen staff members in the office by putting a lock. Some of them however, managed to escape seeing mob moving towards office.
They also snapped power  to the office complex and the staff members remained locked inside for some time facing taste of hot weather. They raised slogans and  alleged that a transformer got damaged at the town three days back and the PDD authorities failed to  get it repaired. They warned to block National Highway at Vijaypur and  lock Divisional PDD office if the power was not restored within two days.
