POONCH, June 11: The people from Chhambar Kanari area of Sawjian in Mandi tehsil blocked road and held protest against PDD after PHE pipes started giving electric shocks to the people.
The villagers came out on the road and disrupted movement of traffic from 7 AM to 10 AM today. They alleged that a live electric wire fell on the PHE pipes yesterday and due to electric current two bulls of a villager were killed. Over a dozen people received electric shocks. The matter was reported to PHE and PDD authorities but no body listened.
Later, Tehsildar Mandi and SHO reached the spot and they assured the agitating people to take up the issue with the concerned PDD staff. The people then lifted dharna at around 10 AM.
