KATHUA, Aug 31: The residents of Billawer and Katli held protest demonstration against the PMGSY Department and blocked the Katli road for two hours. The youth and daily commuters assembled at Katli road Billawer and blocked it for two hours in protest against the failure of the authorities to renovate the same.
They raised slogans against district administration and PMGSY Department for their failure in completing the construction works of road. The road has turned muddy and it is difficult for vehicles to ply on this road. The pedestrians also cannot walk on the road which is totally in a dilapidated condition, the protestors said.
They said the road is prone to accidents due to land sliding and its worst condition. A police team and officials of PMGSY reached on the spot and assured the protestors to start the renovation work of the road within days. After the assurance the protestors dispersed.
