KATHUA, Sept 15: The residents of Hatli Morh near Industrial Estate Kathua today took out a protest demonstration against the Pollution Control Board, District Industries Centre Kathua and District Administration for their failure to stop establishment of a Red category industry in Industrial estate Kathua.

The members of civil society took out protest rally from Hatli Morh which passes through various parts of the area. They were raising the slogans against the Red category Industry ‘RK Grinding’– a Klinker unit which is going to be set up in Industrial Estate Kathua.
The protestors condemned the attitude of Administration which failed to stop the construction work of RK Grinding, which is being opened only in 5 canal of land instead of required 35 canal of land (as per Industrial rules and regulations).
The protesting locals said that no Red category industry will be allowed to establish on the cost of human life. They warned the Administration and the State Government to take appropriate action as soon as possible.
“The members of civil society including the women and children are protesting regularly for last 14 days but the PCB and other concerning agencies are silent over this burning issue concerned to human as well as animal lives,” the protestors said and warned of launching mass scale agitation if the action is not taken soon in the matter.
