JAMMU, Apr 29: The residents of village Badyal Quazian in RS Pura held a protest demonstration against the anti-social elements who are trying to grab the temple land in the village.
The residents assembled outside Press Club and raised slogans against the Sarpanch and Panch of the said village and also held them responsible for trying to grab the land of Baba Kaliveer Ji Mandir.
The protesters alleged that the Sarpanch Gharu Ram and Panch Jangi are trying to grab the temple land and in this matter the police are also extending support to them.
They further stated that the Sarpanch Gharu Ram and Panch Jangi along with their supporters severally beat the temple priest Veero Devi causing fracture in her left hand. Sarpanch Gharu Ram and panch Jangi also threatened the temple priest of dire consequences.
“The land grabbers are not only trying to grab the temple land, but also the residential portion, where temple priest was residing”, they informed.
They added that the matter was reported to SHO of police station RS Pura SI Jai Pal Sharma but in place of taking action against the land grabbers, he (SHO) is shielding the culprits.
When contacted SDPO RS Pura Davinder Singh told that the matter is under investigation and after verifying the facts, the report will be submitted to the Court.
