RAJOURI, June 12: The people from Rajouri town held strong protest against PDD authorities and local administration late this evening.
A large number of people came out on the road near Abdullah bridge in the town at around 8.45 pm and started protest demonstration against power failure. The agitating people were raising slogans against PDD staff, DC Rajouri, PDD Minister Incharge Dr Nirmal Singh (DyCM) besides BJP-PDP Coalition Government.
The people alleged that during the month of Ramzan, the PDD staff is imposing long power cuts in the town and especially during late evening and night hours the long power cuts are being imposed to harass public. There is no schedule at all. Local administration is also sleeping over the matter. They burnt old tyres on the road and blocked it for about 45 minutes.
Later, the PDD staff released the electricity in the town. The people demanded that uninterrupted power supply be ensured in the town during holy month of Ramzan. Later, SHO Chaman Gorkha reached there and he pacified the people and asked them to take up the matter with Executive Engineer, M&RE wing of PDD. The road was then cleared.
