NOWSHERA, July 26: The people from Shilkima village in Nowshera held protest demonstration against PDD authorities at Rajal and blocked Jammu-Poonch highway for about an hour today.
The villagers came out on the highway and sat on dharna at Rajal. They were shouting slogans against concerned PDD staff and Executive Engineer PDD, Chief Engineer and I/C Power Minister, Dr Nirmal Singh (DyCM). The villagers alleged that local electric transformer was damaged about 15 days ago but the PDD staff has failed to replace or repair the same. They alleged that neither JE or AEE concerned bothered to get it repaired despite the fact that matter was brought to their notice.
The movement of vehicles on this busy highway came to halt for about an hour. SDM and Tehsildar Nowshera reached the spot and pacified the agitating villagers. On their assurance, the people lifted dharna.
