KISHTWAR, Sept 9: The residents of Zewer village held protest and blocked the Om Mehta Marg, here today.
The protestors raised slogans against PHE Department for its failure to provide drinking water. They alleged that they are not being supplied drinking water on regular basis and some times they don’t see even a single drop of water for several weeks.
“We approached the concerned authorities, but no action has been taken to mitigate our problem, which forced us to come on roads”, a protestor said.
Later, Tehsildar and Xen PHE rushed to the spot and pacified the protesting people by assuring them their issue related to drinking water supply will be resolved.
On the assurance, the protestors dispersed.
