MENDHAR, Nov 26: People from two -three villages of Mendhar area held protest against PHE and PDD authorities and blocked Mendhar-Surankote road for about an hour today.
The irate villagers from Sare Wali Bhati and Kot Firozalla besides adjoining hamlets came out on the road at round 11.30 am and started protest demonstration. They raised barricades and stalled the movement of traffic. The villagers alleged that area was facing lot of water crisis for the last two months. The power supply has also been stalled due to damaged transformer. They said that concerned authorities have turned blind eye towards the problem of the people.
They were shouting slogans against the PHE and PDD officers. Later, on the directions of SDM Mendhar, Naib Tehsildar and SHO went to the spot and gave assurance to the people. Later, they lifted dharna and restored traffic.
