People protest against police high-handedness

BHADERWAH, July 28: The residents held protest against police high-handedness after a Taxi Union President Mohsin Ganai was reportedly thrashed by the cops, today evening.
As per reports, the locals staged a protest against the high-handedness of the police. Additional police personnel were dispatched to the spot to escort the constables back to the station and quell the protests.
People were demanding immediate action against the cops.
The shopkeepers also closed down their business establishments and blocked the road near Jamia Masjid Chowk.
Later MLA Bhaderwah Dalip Singh Parihar reached the spot and pacified the protestors. MLA assured that he had ordered an inquiry into the incident.
“I had asked the SSP Doda to conduct a detailed probe and submit a report, based on which action will be taken”, he added.
Meanwhile, Mohsin Ganai has been admitted to the Sub District Hospital Bhadarwah and is undergoing treatment, when reports last came in.
When contacted, SSP Doda said that there was some issue between the cops and Mohsin Ganai, which was later, settled.
