MENDHAR, Dec 31: The local residents accompanied by Beopar Mandal held strong protest demonstration against PDD and PHE authorities here today.
Irate public was protesting against the shortage of power and water supply. They were raising slogans against the concerned authorities for their inaction. The agitating people alleged that due to long power curtailments the general public is suffering. The students community is badly hit as their exams are drawing nearer. They alleged that water supply has also been very poor and there is leakage in the pipes in the town and nobody repairs.
After staging protest for about an hour they moved to the office of SDM and took up the matter with him. The SDM Romesh Kumar took up the matter with the concerned officers. The public also demanded that at least two more water tankers be pressed into service in Mendhar Sub Division.
