UDHAMPUR, Apr 16: Congress activists and locals held a protest demonstration against dumping of solid waste near PHE water reserve tank Barriyan Udhampur.
Led by Congress leader Summet Magotra, the protesting people raised slogans against Municipal Council authorities and demanded immediate shifting of the dumping site.
They alleged that water reserve tank of PHE Department and water supply pipes were soaking liquid waste material from the solid waste and thus posing threat to health of Udhampur people, who are being supplied polluted water.
Magotra alleged that despite the issue having been brought into the notice of concerned authorities and the District administration, no remedial step was taken.
