RAJOURI, June 20: The people including traders from Thannamandi town of district Rajouri today held protest against the PMGSY wing of the R&B Department.
The traders and general people from Thannamandi town came out on the road and then started protest against the PMGSY authorities. The people alleged that PMGSY is constructing a road from Thannamandi to Dhok. They conducted earth work on the road but abandoned the drainage work on the road. Due to rain about a week back, the water entered many shops and houses and the matter was brought to the notice of concerned staff but they did not bother.
Today again, due to heavy rain, the water entered many shops and houses in the area and caused damage to the property and goods of the people. They held strong protest and also blocked road for about an hour. Later, SDM and Tehsildar concerned besides SHO reached the spot and assured the agitating public to take up the issue with the R&B authorities. The people then lifted dharna.
