MENDHAR, Jan 9: The people from Mendhar town and adjoining areas held protest demonstration against water and power crisis and disrupted movement of traffic for some time.
The people from the town including Beopar Mandal members, some from Harni and Kas Baladi areas assembled at main chowk Mendhar and started protest demonstration against PDD and PHE authorities during the day. They alleged that long power cuts have made life of the people miserable while water supply has been affected in several wards of the town and also in the adjoining villages. They blocked the road and disrupted movement of traffic for some time.
They were shouting slogans against PHE and PDD authorities for their failure to maintain essential supplies. Later, SDPO Mendhar, Surinder Choudhary, Tehsildar M R Mughal and SHO Sadaqat Qureshi reached there. They assured the people to take up the matter with the concerned officials. The people then lifted protest dharna.
