People from remote Gulabgarh area facing hardships: Ex-MLA

UDHAMPUR, May 22:  The Jammu and Kashmir National Panthers Party (NPP) president and former MLA Balwant Singh Mankotia has alleged that people from Gulabgarh and Mahore area in district Reasi are facing a lot of problems in view of very poor road connectivity.
While briefing media persons here today, Mr Mankotia who arrived here after four day visit of this remote areas of Gulabgarh and Bhaderwah constituencies, said that   even after so many years after independence, the most  of areas of  Gulabgarh and Bhaderwah  were neither connected with road,  nor with electricity. He demanded immediate road connectivity to Gulabgarh, Tuli-Banna, Channa, Danda Kote  and others areas and power connectivity to many villages and hamlets of  this belt.
He further demanded restoration of  PMGSY road from Lar to Pagialia and Gotta to Tuli of Gulabgarh constituency and Kangar, Dhara, Trabbi, Larote, Nori, Chilli and Shankoja of Bhaderwah constituency.
The NPP leader said that public of Lar Panchayat told him that previous Government had sanctioned one CD Block and Higher Secondary School for Lar but after formation of PDD- BJP Govt, this Cabinet decision has been put on hold. Mankotia demanded immediate implementation of the said Cabinet decision and supply of CAPD ration to Gulabgarh, Khod, Pagialia, Lar and Angralla areas, which were facing acute shortage of the same for last three months.
Mr Mankotia along with party leaders, also visited the house of Abdul Gani (45), who along with his son Mohd Irfan (13) was washed away on May 12 while crossing Pagialia nallah near Gulabgarh. Dead body of Irfan has not been recovered yet. He also visited the house of Mohd Majid  of Lar whose wife had also washed away recently. He provided them some cash assistance from his party.
Ex-MLA  demanded Rs 10 lakh compensation for both families from State Government. He  further demanded that Bhaderwah constituency needs to be developed as tourist model constituency because it had a lot of potential and scope to attract the tourists from all across the country due to its natural beauty and wonderful climate. He also demanded posting of adequate staff at Bhaderwah hospital.
