POONCH, Aug 3: A ropeway bridge was damaged about five days ago due to continuous rainfall in Baga’n Beder area of Mandi tehsil and it was later temporarily repaired by locals to ease the sufferings.
Sarpanch Bedar, Rafiq Madni said that despite the passage of five days, nobody from concerned department or administration visited the site and tried to fix the problem.
He said the plates, side ropes and support of the bridge has been damaged. “More than 100 families are dependent on this bridge who suffered along with the students of Primary School Baga’n as school remained shut for many days,” he added.
Madni said locals were compelled to temporarily repair the bridge to run daily affairs but untoward incident can be happened at anytime as children, women and old age persons use to cross this bridge regularly to reach home and school.
