SAMBA, July 18: Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) State president, Tarsem Lal Khullar today said that the poor-sections of the society particularly farmers are suffering a lot due to mis-rule of both Central and State Governments, which are led by BJP.
He asked the people that if they want to mitigate their suffering they must come under the banner of Bahujan Samaj Party which is in command of Behan K Mayawati who has sacrificed her whole life for the upliftment of poor masses of India.
Khullar was addressing BSP leader and activists who were sitting on dharna at party’s District Headquarters in Samba against the wrong policies adopted by the Centre and State Governments towards poor masses.
A large numbers of BSP workers participated in the dharna which was led by Tarsem Lal Khullar along with Gurnam Singh, co-ordinator J&K. The workers were shouting slogans against NDA led Government at the Centre and PDP-BJP coalition Government in the State.
While speaking on the occasion, Gurnam Singh elaborated how the farmers in the country are being cheated in land acquisition bill which is purely an attempt of BJP to give benefit to corporate houses who helped the BJP to come in power. He declared that the BSP will oppose its passing in the Rajya Sabha as well as Lok Sabha.
He said people in Jammu keeping high hopes voted for BJP but to our surprise because of lust of power they paired with PDP to discriminate Jammu region which can be gauged from shifting of AIIMS to Kashmir, regularizing SPOs in Kashmir and ignoring Jammu, extending duration of BEd course in Jammu to two years, etc.
“The downtrodden people of SC, ST and OBC and refugees of 1947, 65 and 71 are most unfortunate in getting their legitimate rights. These people were lured by BJP during election campaigning but neglected after coming in Government”, he said.
Prominent among others who spoke on the occasion were Rattan Lal Chargotra, SN Dogra, Ratan Kumar Bhagat, Jagdish Verma, Som Nath (Ex- MLA) and Charanjeet Bitta.
