Samba, Aug 2: The inhabitants of Vijaypur town have expressed their serious resentment over the erratic power supply in the area and accused the Power Development Department (PDD) for the problem.
The residents of the town alleged that out of 24 hours a day they get the power supply for five to six hours only. The long duration power cuts have added to their problems in this hot and humid Summer when the people need round the clock electricity, they added.

Moreover, the electric wires in the entire township are in a precarious condition exposing people to grave risk as the Department has failed to set them right or replace the old and worn out wires with new ones. They alleged that the PDD has taken the people of Vijaypur for granted which will not be tolerated any long as the long duration power cuts have added to their woes.
The people warned agitation in case the problem was not solved immediately and power supply be improved in the area. Supporting the privatization, the residents said they strongly advocating for privatization of PDD as the Department has failed to come to the expectation of consumers despite taking hefty fee as electricity charges every month.
