JAMMU, Oct 17: President Jammu Kashmir Democratic Front (JKDF), Anil Gupta today warned the Government that people will not tolerate any more cheating by it, as they are now fully awakened and can’t be misled and hoodwinked by the Government with false promises.
Talking to reporters here today along with Munish Khajuria president of the Youth Wing and Ambidkar Gupta the duo who were also among the three persons who protested in Assembly recently against the false and impractical promises made by the politicians and successive governments with the masses of the state.
Mr Gupta said there is mounting unrest among the educated youth and other sections of the society due to high hopes created among them by the politicians at the time of elections. But as they failed to fulfill these promises and come up to the expectations of the masses which has led to lot of resentment, he added.
He said that the NC leaders and its alliance partners have promised unemployment allowance to educated youth during last elections if voted to power and when JKDF activists reminded them the same promise demanding Rs 2000 as unemployment allowance to educated youth per month they were given harsh treatment and subjected to lathis.
Munish Khajuria said that Government has decided not to pay any attention towards the problems and demands of Jammuties. When all the peaceful efforts to apprise the Government about the grievances of the youth failed, the JKDF activists were left with no other option but to resort to protest in the Assembly. He said the unemployment is growing every day which has led to frustration among the educated youth who have no source of income and JKDF will fight for their rights. As this Government has noting to offer to nationalist people while militants and stone pelters are being given jobs in the name of rehabilitation, he added.
