People’s co-operation vital for creating better basic amenities: Bhalla

JAMMU, Apr 5: Minister for Housing, Horticulture and Culture, Raman Bhalla, called upon the people to cooperate with the executing agencies for timely and quality completion of development works, adding that people’s collaboration is imperative for creation of a strong edifice of basic amenities.
This was stated by the Minister while interacting with people during public grievances redressal camp held at Preet Nagar W No. 45, here today.
The Minister said Government has prepared a detailed project report costing Rs. 5 crore for face lifting of all the open spaces in Preet Nagar, Sanjay Nagar and Rani Talab in Digiana available on embankments of nallah and Ranbir Canal by constructing walkway and recreational parks.
Taking serious note of seepage of drinking water supply pipes at Preet Nagar and Sanjay Nagar, Bhalla asked the engineers to immediately take measures to stop the leakages that cause damage to the road.
Regarding problems in matador services upto Preet Nagar, the Minister asked the RTO Jammu to personally look into demand of the people and cancel the permits of those who do not adhere to their allotted routes.
Responding to the local demands, the Minister announced Rs. 4.98 lakh for upgradation of lanes and drains in W. No. 45. He asked the JMC to complete the project within stipulated time frame by using quality material.
