JAMMU, Feb 20: Apni Party senior vice president Ghulam Hassan Mir has said that people’s Govt through elections should be formed in Jammu and Kashmir.
In a press statement issued here, Ghulam Hassan Mir said that the people of J&K have been disappointed with the way the administration is working.
“The developmental activities are going at a snails pace. The public delivery system is very poor and it has further added to the alienation of people from the Govt even as efforts are being made by the Central Govt to provide all support,” Mir said while speaking at the joining programme which was organized by Dalbir Singh.
Welcoming the newcomers into the party, Mir said that the bureaucratic attitude of the officials has marred the developmental policies and programme of the Union Government.
“The people are not given heed by the officials and the civil secretariat has become unapproachable for common masses,” he said while calling for Assembly elections and handing over the Govt to elected representatives in J&K.
Mir said that ” The Govt of India must end LG Rule and pave way for the popular Govt in view of suffering of the people.”
He said that the elected representatives are answerable to the people and the officials have no such responsibility.
In present circumstances, Mir said, it becomes imperative for the Govt to replace LG administration with an elected Govt.
