SRINAGAR, June 14: Peoples Republican Party (PRP) which was constituted in 2014 has been disbanded by its president Mir Ghulam Rasool today.
Announcing the decision, Mir said that the cadre will continue to work under the banner of Peoples Welfare Society (PWS) to serve the people of the State as well as the country.
He, while assigning various reasons for the disbanding of party said that the main objective for which the party was constituted could not be attained in last over three years as some members tried to bring a bad name to it by aligning with some political forces and indulged in corrupt practices. Though Party leadership took serious exception to the same and dismissed these elements but the bad image created by them tarnished the image of party’s dedicated and honest leadership and hence it was unanimously resolved to disband the party by entire cadre.
Mir said the cadre will continue to serve the common masses, laborers, weaker sections of the society and start the struggle for the betterment of people of the State.
He accused the political parties and politicians for Kashmir mess and said that not only Kashmir but the politicians who ruled the nation during last 70 years failed to come to the expectations of the freedom fighters who laid down their lives for national cause and instead they amassed huge wealth. He said the benefits of freedom were reaped by these selected families while common masses of country continued to suffer.
