KATHUA, Sept 1: Two days Personality Development Workshop (WPD’17)’ for the students of MCA Programme at Kathua Campus, began here today.
JU Vice-Chancellor Prof R D Sharma, who was chief guest for the first day of the workshop, stressed on the requirement of practical exposure along with the theoretical knowledge for personal and professional growth. Discussing the role of positive attitude and quoting the example of Amul and Lizzat Papad, he expressed that it’s the positive attitude that has taken these companies to such heights with international recognition. He encouraged the students to have their own startups and become job creators rather than job seekers.
Earlier, Prof Rajni Kant, Rector Kathua Campus, advised the students that with good vocabulary and database of words, self confidence starts building automatically. Defining personality having two aspects, positive and negative, he stressed upon the positive personality to succeed in life. Also stating the importance of Self-Talking and connection to the inner self, he suggested the students to seek guidance from the God of One’s own Understanding who lives within us.
The speakers included Prof. Rajni Dhingra, former Dean, Faculty of Sciences, JU; Prof S K Gupta, Dean Academic Affairs, IMS; Dr Rakesh Sharma, Head, Department of English, Bhaderwah Campus; Kr Abhimanyu, D S Billawaria, Senior Trainer at Communication County and Kamal Sharma, Director, Save-first Investinsure.
Prof. Rajni Dhingra spoke at length regarding the ‘Inner Engineering for Personality Development’ while Prof S K Gupta focused upon the ‘Role of Positive Attitude in Stress Management’. Kamal Sharma described various aspects of the ‘Impression Management’ with an elaborated power point presentation.
Dr Jyoti Sharma, Incharge Head, MBA coordinated the inaugural ceremony while Sourabh Shastri, Incharge Head, MCA presented the formal vote of thanks.
