Persons with disabilities seek justice

POONCH, Mar 21: The persons with disabilities from district Poonch today urged the Government to redress their genuine issues and provide them justice.
Speaking at a press conference here under the banner of Pir Panchal Awami Development Forum, these aggrieved people said that Government must take steps to strengthen persons with disabilities in all districts of J&K.
President of the organisation, Fareed Malik while projecting demands said that Government must enhance our pension from Rs 1000 to Rs 4000 per month as being provided in other States and UTs of India.
There must be separate counters in all offices and banks for persons with disabilities so that they may not suffer, he added.
Malik said our students who are under study in schools and colleges must be provided scooty for attaining education and have free movement. Another point they raised was implementation of reservation on ground level. He said they are deprived of their actual reservation quota. During conference many more issues were projected by other speakers.
