PF Commissioner delivers lecture on goal setting at MIET

JAMMU, Oct 15: MIET School of Management under the impact lecture series organized an invited guest lecture on ‘Motivation through Goal Setting by Rizwan Uddin, Regional PF Commissioner, Employees’ Provident Fund Organization Ministry of Labour and Employment, Government of India.
Rizwan has delivered many training sessions on goal setting and self-effectiveness in leading academic institutes and government departments and trained more than 7000 participants including Government officers, district administration officials and public representatives participated in these rallies, sensitised students towards their personal growth, besides increasing awareness on health and environmental issues.
While speaking at the session, Rizwan Uddin deliberated about goal setting and achieving the goal for succeeding in life. He suggested that to achieve the goals, students must read books to broaden their knowledge.
Furthermore, he talked about renowned personalities like Jack Ma and Masayoshi Son and the lessons learnt from them. Adding to it, he said that “One should have a purpose in life. We need to have the right attitude and shared a quote that ‘Your Attitude decides your Altitude.” He further added that one should set the highest possible goal and should work hard to achieve that goal.
He also encouraged students to choose the best field and follow their passion. He focussed on setting SMART goals and also shared a mantra to succeed in life. He further deliberated on the issue of effective time management, putting in consistent hard work and bringing in quality in their words and thoughts.
He concluded the session by quoting, “Enjoy wherever you are as “Uncertainty is certain. Never mind if you must travel on a bad road. Your next journey might be blissful.
“The session was attended by Dr. Sahil Sawhney, General Manager Strategic Initiative and faculty members of School of Management. The formal expression of thanks was presented by Dr Ankita Nanda, HoD, MBA and the session was coordinated by Dr. Parul Sharma.
