Pharmacists urge Minister to consider their demands

JAMMU, Jan 18: The State Government Pharmacists have hoped that the new Minister for Health Shabir Ahmed Khan would positively look into their genuine demands.
Separate meetings of the Pharmacists were held at Jammu and Kashmir under the chairmanship of Hushiar Singh Rukwal, State vice president of Indian Pharmacist (IPA) and Tufail Ali Bazaz, State president, respectively.
At Jammu meeting, Hushiar Singh Rukwal stressed the Pharmacist community to get united and to do the job with dedication. He hoped that the genuine and justified demands of pharmacist community in the J&K will be looked into under the dynamic leadership of Health Minister Shabir Ahmed Khan.
The meet also highlighted the demands, which include replacement of one-year Diploma /certificate of in service Pharmacist into two years, recognition of Jammu and Kashmir Pharmacy Council and State Medical Faculty by Pharmacy Council of India (PCI) & HRD New Delhi, monitory based promotional avenues from Pharmacist, Pharmacy officer to Director Pharmacy (8 tier promotion) and reforms in entry pay band as Rs 9300 with grade pay Rs 4200 after completion of 2 years service, implementation of Pharmacy education regulations in J&K through PCI, etc.
Among others who attended the meetings, included Shakeel Azad, Chowdhary Mohd. Ayoub, Rishi Pandita, Rehmatulla Wani, Haji Abudul Kareem Shafaat, Naveen Chander Sharma, Rehmatullah Malik, Barqatulla, Chuni Lal J S Chandail, Sanjeev Bhan, Gh Qadir Zargar, Nazir Ahmed, Gh Mustufa, Daleep Kumar, Omkar Singh, T K Kala, Ravinder Kumar, Mohd. Asgar Wani, Tahir Mustaq, Arun Kapoor, Mustaq Ahmed Mughal, Muzaffar Shinali and Mohinder Singh Rana.
