PHC doctor suspended, another charge sheeted

MENDHAR, Apr 24: The Sub-Divisional Magistrate, Mendhar, Dr Sahil Jandyal today placed a doctor under suspension and charge-sheeted Medical Officer of the Govt Primary Health Centre Dhar Galoon, after the doctor was found absent from duty this evening.
Official sources said that a local boy, Yasir Ahmed, son of Mohd Tanzeem, resident of Dhar Galoon was injured in a road accident at the village this evening. The family members and people of the area shifted him to PHC Dhar Galoon. They found that no doctor was available for treatment while a Nursing Orderly was there at that time.
The villagers informed SDM and BMO Mendhar about the matter on phone. The boy was then shifted to Sub District Hospital, Mendhar.
Taking serious note of the incident, the SDM placed Dr Nazmus Saqib Lone under suspension. As per roster, Dr Lone should have been on duty. The Medical Officer concerned, Dr Mohd Latief was charge- sheeted.
BMO, Mendhar, Dr Parvez Ahmed Khan when contacted confirmed the incident and said that action has been taken against the two doctors. He said some para-medical staff was available in PHC Dhar Galoon but the doctor concerned was absent from duty. He said that an inquiry has been initiated by him in this regard.
