DODA, Apr 16: The doctors and other paramedical staff posted at Primary Health Centre (PHC) Gundna observed strike over the alleged manhandling by Chairman Block Development Council (BDC) Gundna and others.
As per reports, the staff of PHC Gundna held protest in the hospital premises after Chairman BDC Gundna Sarshad Nisar Natnoo along with his associates manhandled the hospital staff during duty hours and vandalized the hospital building.
The protesting staff informed that they were examining the patients as per their routine duty when BDC Chairman Sarshad Natnoo along with his associates barged into PHC premise and start abusing hospital staff without any logical reason. Chairman also threatened the hospital staff of dire consequences.
The protesting medical staff expressed their resentment over the attack on their colleague and demanded that the Government should ensure safety of health staff.
The protestors demanded immediate and stern action against the Chairman and his associates who misbehaved with PHC staff.
A written complaint by the staff has also been sent to Deputy Commissioner Doda and SSP Doda and other concerned for appropriate action against the culprits, the protestors informed.
When contacted, Chief Medical officer (CMO) Doda Dr Mustaq Ahmed told the EXCELSIOR that SSP Doda has been requested to lodge FIR against BDC Chairman and his associates viz initiate action against them.
