JAMMU, Aug 3: A PhD student of IIT Jammu died after coming beneath heavy machinery while shifting the same to the college’s lab here today.
As per police sources, a PhD student of IIT College at Jagti namely Rubesh Raj (25), son of Purmanand Kumar, a resident of Bihar got seriously injured after coming beneath heavy machinery while shifting it to college’s lab.
He was immediately rushed to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) Jammu, where he failed to respond to the treatment and succumbed to his injuries.
After completing medical and legal formalities, the body of the deceased has been handed over to legal heirs for last rites.
Inquest proceedings under Section 174 CrPC have been initiated by Nagrota Police.
