JAMMU, July 10: A delegation of PHDCCI Jammu Regional Committee led by its chairman Vikrant Kuthiala, co-chairman Kuldeep Gupta, Ajay Gandotra and Aditya Vaid today met Sudhir Gupta, Chief Engineer, EM&RE, Jammu and took up the issues pertaining to power supply and billing system.
Kuthiala requested for introduction of a voluntary load declaration scheme. He also suggested that all Commercial and Industrial Bills should mention the maximum demand for billing period, as most of the consumers do not understand the extensive information displayed on the electronic meters. Kuthiala further stressed upon augmenting the capacity of Grid Stations at 220, 132 & 33 KV levels as well as upgradation of distribution lines.
Kuldeep Gupta highlighted the difficulties being faced by Hira Nagar Industrial Estate and informed that the requisite funds have been released by the Industries & Commerce Department and requested for expeditious completion of this industrial feeder.
Ajay Gandotra requested for rationalization and reduction of power curtailments in areas of Jammu in particular TalabTillo and adjoining areas.
Sudhir Gupta gave a patient hearing and assured of improvement in power supply system. He also requested the Chamber to advise its members and public at large to use power judiciously; declare the actual load and revise agreements, so as to reflect connected load. This would enable proper planning and up gradation of distribution network. He also appraised of the difficulty in getting right of way for new power lines and acquisition of land for creation of additional grid and sub-stations.
